Nia Atelier

Privacy Policy

Effective date: to be confirmed before publication

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Nia Atelier collects when you visit our website, create an account or place an order, how that information is used, and the choices you have.

Nia Atelier is a handmade jewellery atelier based in Cyprus. Our full registered name, registered address and company registration details are to be confirmed before publication.

1. Who we are

Nia Atelier operates this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the data controller).

Registered legal name, registration number, registered address and VAT number: to be confirmed before publication.

Privacy contact address: to be confirmed before publication.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Account information — your email address and, when you create an account with a password, the credentials handled securely by our authentication provider. We never see or store your password in readable form.
  • Profile information — the name you give us and, if you upload one, a profile photo.
  • Wishlist — the pieces you save. When you are signed in these are stored with your account; when you are signed out they stay in your browser only.
  • Studio Credits — the balance and activity connected to your account.
  • Orders — the items ordered, delivery and billing details, contact details and order history.
  • Messages — anything you send us directly, for example a support or order enquiry.
  • Basic technical information — information your browser sends when it requests a page, used to serve the site securely and reliably.

3. Why we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • run the shop and show you the site in your chosen language
  • create and maintain your account and sign you in
  • process, fulfil and deliver your orders and handle returns or enquiries
  • send service messages such as order confirmations and account emails
  • keep the site and accounts secure and prevent misuse
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

4. Accounts and sign-in

You can create an account with an email address and a password. Email verification and password reset are handled through secure links sent to your email address.

When you choose to sign in with Google, Nia Atelier may receive basic account information made available through the Google authentication process, such as your name, email address and profile photo.

Nia Atelier does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar or Google Contacts as part of basic authentication.

Sign-in with Google is planned and is not yet available on this site. When it is enabled, this section will be checked again against the exact information the sign-in process provides.

5. Wishlist

If you are signed in, the pieces you save to your Wishlist are stored with your account so they are available on your other devices.

If you are signed out, your Wishlist is kept only in your own browser. If you later sign in, those saved pieces may be added to your account Wishlist and removed from browser storage.

6. Studio Credits

Studio Credits and their related activity are recorded against your account so that balances and history can be shown to you accurately.

7. Orders and payments

To fulfil an order we process your contact, delivery and billing details together with the details of the items ordered.

Payments are handled by our payment providers, Stripe and PayPal. Your card number and full payment credentials are entered with those providers and are never stored by Nia Atelier. We receive confirmation of the payment result and the information needed to fulfil and account for the order.

8. Cookies and browser storage

This site uses a small number of technologies that are necessary for it to work:

  • a cookie that remembers your chosen language
  • browser storage that holds your shopping bag
  • browser storage that holds your Wishlist while you are signed out
  • storage used to keep you signed in to your account
  • a small marker used to show new activity in your account menu
  • once introduced, a preference remembering which sign-in method you last used

10. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers that help us operate the shop, and only as far as needed:

  • our cloud backend provider, for accounts, the database and file storage
  • Stripe and PayPal, for payments
  • Resend, for order and account emails
  • Bunny, for delivering images and video
  • delivery partners, professional advisers and authorities where required by law

11. How long we keep information

Account information may be retained while your account remains active.

Order, transaction and business records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security or legitimate operational requirements.

Information is deleted when it is no longer required, subject to those obligations.

You may request deletion where applicable, and some information may still need to be retained where required or permitted by law.

Exact retention periods are to be confirmed before publication.

12. Deleting your account or information

You may contact Nia Atelier to request deletion of your account and personal information. We will action such requests where applicable, subject to legal and legitimate retention requirements, and will tell you if anything must be kept and why.

The contact address for deletion and privacy requests is to be confirmed before publication.

13. Your rights

Under European Union and Cyprus data protection law you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to request erasure, to object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of information you provided in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

14. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable service providers. No website or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

15. Children

This site is not directed at children, and accounts are intended for adults. Any minimum age requirement for holding an account is to be confirmed before publication. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

16. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted by applicable data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site and our services change. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect, and material changes will be highlighted on the site.

18. Contact

For questions about this policy or about your personal information, please contact Nia Atelier. Contact details are to be confirmed before publication.
